none today, working...

There is no sketch today as I've been working on some commission work and my hand hurts too much to continue drawing when I should spend that time drawing commission stuff. Thus my conundrum, any ways I don't know where yesterday went I'm pretty sure I posted something but apparently I imagined it. Anyways, to make up for it in my mind 3 drawings for tomorrow should be in order.

Concept sketch

Decided to dedicate this sketch to some character concepts I need to work on for a collaboration with a friend of mine. I've been given written description of personalities or specific attributes of characters. This guy is supposed to be very approachable and frequently wears Hawaiian shirts instead of/over his uniform.

Next step is submitting it to my friend for review.

I actually had a sketch done yesterday I just was too tired after going to the ren fair yesterday that I fell asleep before I remembered to post it. My wife asked for this sketch when I broke out my sketchbook, kinda fitting as where we were heading. She's been insisting that I draw more horses, which is good since I've never really draw them much. I need to work on suits of armor as well.

My sketchbook is much bigger than my scanner, and this was a pencil sketch so the levels were adjusted for clarity. Time spent was 20 mins, was having a hard time with the perspective which is why I think the knight is too big for that horse. More to come later as I owe a sketch for today as well.

So it begins

Made a new tv stand recently so the new thing near my computer desk is the Wii. A 20min digital speed paint. Not much else to say, going to a "Ren-fair" tomorrow so drawing will be late tomorrow as well.

Start this with some words

     The title of this blog pretty much explains what this blog is about, this is a depository for me to put daily sketches. I'm really trying to push myself to draw everyday again so that while I'm in this "limbo" period between graduating college and finding a "real" job I can get better at what I love to do. Why do this in blog form? I don't know, I figured it might give me greater incentive to actually draw everyday if the all-knowing, omnipresent internet was glaring at me to post (I also figure I can work on design with the blog page itself). Time spent on drawings will vary, as will subject matter and medium. I might post other things as well, we'll just have to see. That's about it for now, drawing will commence tomorrow.
